Admiral Hong Bao

Hong Bao is one of China's most illustrious maritime explorer.  He traversed the seas and his fleets, sent by Emperor Zhu Di (see other blog), and eventually discovered many new undiscovered lands including Australia and Antarctica.  Admiral Hong Bao sailed along side of Admiral Zhou Man up the coast of Africa, to Venezuela, down the Atlantic coast of South America and to the Strait of Magellan.  After they had reached the strait, Hong Bao decided to split up with Zhou Man and he sailed south along the coast of Antarctica and sailed eastward and resulted in landing near Bunburry on the western coast of Australia.  He later sailed, AND charted the west coast of Australia and finally ventured home to China through means of the South China Sea.  He was a part in being the first to circumnavigate the globe.  That's right, The Chinese circumnavigated the globe almost a century before Ferdinand Magellan.
